- Actively identifying, qualifying and soliciting new and existing accounts that have a real business need for lodging and/or catering events and meet the overall profitability requirements for the property.
- Execute a successful solicitation to exceed activity and production goals. Create and implement promotions to attract new customers and stimulate repeat business objectives.
- Effectively utilize all sources of industry and competitive intelligence to uncover business opportunities and market trends for the required segment.
- Conduct direct sales calls, telemarketing activities, local market blitzes and hotel tours.
- Collaborate with key sales leaders blending hotel property needs with available market opportunities to achieve overall top line revenue targets.
- Recent and relevant hotel sales experience is required for this opportunity.
- Excellent computer application skills are required (Outlook, Excel, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to travel to workshops, tradeshows and training programs (limited basis).
- Complete daily logs of overall sales efforts, call notes and client correspondence.
- Ensure accuracy of sales records, database files and account information.
- Knowledge of Delphi Sales Systems is highly valued.
- At least one (1) year of hotel sales in one of the following segments with knowledge of the local area is a plus: (a) Government (b) SMERF/Athletic (c) Business Transient/Key Account Sales (d) Catering Sales
- Previous Starwood, Marriott or Hilton Sales position experience preferred, but not required.
- High School Diploma is required; however, a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Candidate must maintain a high level of professional appearance, demeanor and ethics.
